Jenna Fischer is best known for her role as Pam Beesly on the acclaimed television show The Office For her role, she received the Emmy nomination for Best Supporting Actress and two SAG Awards for Outstanding Performance in the Ensemble Comedy.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, but her family was primarily from St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna saw her mother, Anne, perform in the church when she was young, which instilled a love of performing and theater.
Theater actress with training, Fischer returned to her home base after finishing The Office. Off-Broadway's production of Reasons to Be Happy was directed and written by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. She went on to star as the first woman to appear in Steve Martin's latest play Meteor Shower, an absurdist comedy starring Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg, for a record-breaking performance in the Old Globe Theatre.
The Office's Angela Kinsey (the cast mate of Fischer) and her best friend in real life, Angela Kinsey from The Office, started a podcast back in October. The show was called Office Ladies. The show has grown in popularity and has landed in the Top Ten every single week. The debut year, the show received over 200 million downloads. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year Award in January 2021.
The Actor's Life is her first novel, and details the journey she took starting in St. Louis, Missouri to Hollywood which is where she discovered her calling as a professional actress. The second book, Office BFF's (co-authored by Angela Kinsey) is a memoir of her closest friend, and their experience working at The Office.
