After spending the summers with her father's business, Laura Linney became fascinated by theatre. Then in her time at Brown University she studied acting as well as at Juilliard School, after which she began her acting career. Starting her acting career on the Broadway soon after graduation, she debuted in films within two years. She also appeared on TV following a year.
